Dear Ms. Foreman,
This letter is in response to a request for a Zoning Certification Letter received by this
department on June 25, 2012. The following is a summary of the records of the City of Campbell
pertaining to the above referenced property.
Site Conditions: The subject property, identified as parce1414-01-029 on the assessment maps of
the Santa Clara County Assessor's Office, is improved with a 50-room motel (Motel 6).
Current Zoning/General Plan Desi>nations: The property is currently zoned P-D (Planned
Development) with a General Plan Land Use designation of General Commercial.
Abutting Zoning Desi ,nations: The following Zoning Designations surround the subject
property:
^ North: C-2 (General Commercial)
^ South: Unincorporated County
^ East: Unincorporated County
^ West: P-D (Planned Development)
Planned Unit Development (PUD): The project was within the Planned Development zone
district and approved with through a Site Approval in 1973.
Special/Restrictive/Overlay District: The subject parcel is not in a special, restrictive, or overlay
district.

Zoning Compliance/Non-Conformity: The development standards of the Planned Development
Zoning District are determined by either the approval of a development permit or by existing
conditions. Allowable land-uses are those that are determined to be consistent with the
underlying General Plan Land Use designation. The property's General Commercial Land Use
designation allows for motel use. Therefore, the property is conforming to the Zoning Code and
General Plan.
Variances/Special Exceptions/Conditional Use Permits/Zoning_ Relief: At the time of original
approval„ no variance, special exception, use permit, or other type of zoning relief was required
for this project.
Zoning Code Violations: There are no unresolved zoning code violations associated with the
project site.
Building Code Violations: The City of Campbell Building Division is not aware of any
unresolved building code violations or complaints.
Site Plan Approval: The motel located on the subject property was constructed pursuant to a Site
Approval (`S' 73-40) granted by the City of Campbell Planning Commission on August 20, 1973
(reference enclosed approval document). This Site Approval is the principal land use entitlement
of this property. The Campbell Community Development Department maintains a microfiche
copy of the site plan approved under Site Approval `S' 73-40. However, due to copyright
restrictions and equipment limitations, a full copy of the site plan cannot be provided. However,
enclosed is a print-out of the signed approval stamp from the project site plan.
