Board activities and public outreach for May 2012. This year's theme has not been
announced.
The Board discussed possible Historic Preservation Board activities and public outreach
for May 2012. These activities would include attendance at a City Council Meeting,
articles in the local newspaper, designation of at least one heritage tree, and a social
event to be held at the Ainsley Gardens to celebrate local historic preservation activities.
2. 2012 Heritage Tree Designation: Begin discussion.
The Board discussed previously identified prospects for Heritage Tree designation.
Chair Blake volunteered to contact previously interested property owners to see they
were willing to apply. Board review of any application would occur at the April meeting
with ceremonial presentation to occur at the May 1St City Council meeting.
OLD BUSINESS

possible Board Member outreach to individual property owners.
Staff informed the Board that additional outreach to the 13 property owners is
recommended since we have only heard from three. Staff will prepare a more personal
letter and include a survey to gauge interest.

to help pay for the installation of an informational and educational display to replace
the original plaque that was stolen last year.
