NEW BUSINESS
Overview of HPB Property Owner Social held on Maw: The Board will discuss the
event and evaluate the need to conduct future events.
The Board reviewed a previously prepared list from Board member Hernandez detailing what
she felt went well, what could be improved and what the Board could do to make the next event
even more successful as the first. The Board expressed a desire to conduct annual events and
to prepare "thank you" letters for the attendees and vendors. It was agreed that the Board
would prepare the specific gratitude language which would then be forwarded to staff and
printed on City letterhead for mailing. `
Because one of the event's purposes was to promote the benefits of the Mills Act, the Board
discussed the need to prepare a Mills Act application and contract. Chair Blake suggested a
sub-committee work with staff on the preparation of the application and contract, which would
consist of Vice Chair Walter and Board member Hernandez. All agreed.
One attendee of the event lives at 464 W. Campbell Avenue. The Board expressed a desire to
place this property on the historic inventory "Potential List." In doing so, the Board questioned
the ability to pay for a new survey for this particular property. Interim Director Kermoyan agreed
to see if there is available money in the City's budget to pay for the services of an independent
consultant. Staff would then report back to the Board at the next meeting.
