On September 11,2003 a site visit was made to evaluate a large (50 inches in diameter) Ash Tree in the
front yard. As viewed this tree is apparently healthy but structurally poor. The first 10 feet of trunk have
at least 4 bolts supporting an old centerline crack resulting from too narrow an angle of attachment of the
two major trunks.
Several cables, and 3 visible large standards with imbedded bark (open fissures) are further indications
this tree is structurally unsound throughout its trunk and crown areas. A recent driveway indicates root
cutting near the buttress roots to an unknown degree.
Unfortunately it is my opinion this tree is moderately hazardous as viewed and probably very hazardous
during shock loads in storm conditions.
lt is a good candidate for removal and replacement.
