Dear Mr. Garbe,
Thank you for your submittal of a pre-application for vacation of a portion of Robin Lane adjacent to
San Tomas Expressway. This request has been distributed through the development review process
and the attached comments and conditions have been provided by the commenting departments. To
vacate this right-of-way, it will be necessary for you and your neighbor to complete an application
for vacation of excess right-of-way, a lot line adjustment and a minor encroachment permit.

COMMENTS
. The proposed street vacation, lot line adjustment, and appropriate conditions of approval
will apply to both 810 and 842 Old Orchard Road.
. Clearance from utility companies will be required, as necessary.
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT PRELIMINARY CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL
Preliminary Title Report: Prior to vacation of excess public right-of-way, the applicants
shall provide a current Preliminary Title Report.
Unsecured Deferred Street Improvement Agreement: Prior to issuance of any grading,
drainage, or building permits for the site, the owner shall execute an unsecured deferred
street improvement agreement for construction of standard street improvements.
Street Im{>rovements Pursuant to a Minor Encroachment Permit: Prior to issuance of
an encroachment permit for construction of any public street improvements in the public
Right-of-Way the applicants shall cause plans to be prepared, post security, and provide
insurance, all as required by the City Engineer. The fee for a minor non-utility
encroachment permit is $50.00. The plans shall include the reconstruction of the AC
driveway approaches as required by the City Engineer.
Lot Line Adjustment: Prior to Vacation of Excess Public Right-of-Way, the applicants
shall submit a Lot Line Adjustment application for approval by the City Engineer. The
current application processing fee is $600.00.
Vacation of Public Street and Easements: Prior to issuance of any grading or building
permits for the site, the applicants shall submit a Vacation of Excess Right-of-Way
application for approval by the City Engineer. The current application processing fee is
$600.00.

The purpose of this letter is to request that the City of Campbell consider vacating
ownership of the dead end of Robin Lane to the property owners at 810 and 842 Old
Orchard Road, which are directly adjacent to the right-of-way. This would serve to
relieve a set-back restriction on a proposed new garage structure to be built at 810 Old
Orchard Road.
Please find attached two site plans; one describing the existing condition and the other
the proposed new lot lines.
