Review of a preliminary building permit for an addition to an existing single-
family residence located at 198 Alice Avenue in an R-1-6IH (Single Family
ResidentiallHistoric Overlay) Zoning District.
Accordi g to the Community Development Administrative Procedure on the Referral of Projects
and PIa s to the Historic Preservation Board, both development and pre-development
applicati ns for properties listed on the City's Historic Resources Inventory are referred for
review d comments. At the pre-application phase, the Board may direct staff to inform the
applican of the concerns and/or issues raised during the review.

That the Historic Preservation Board review and give comments to staff.

The ap licant has submitted a pre-application for an addition to an existing single-family
residenc , which is located on a historic street. The applicant is proposing the addition of 111.92
square £ et to the existing kitchen and dining room at the rear of the home. A set of photographs
and plan are attached for your review.
ANAL SIS
Staff is upportive of the proposed addition. The proposed addition will match the original
architect re and style of the home and is well integrated with the site.
This ap ication is preliminary and no formal application has yet been filed. Typically, this type
of reque t is handled with a staff level submittal of plans to the Building Division, with review
by the Panning Division for conformance with development and design standards
