The lanning Division has reviewed your application of March 15. 2002. for a tree removal pennit to
remo e a 12" diameter Liquid Amber tree in front of your business. The Community Development Director
will c nditionally approved the removal of this tree in that it has uplifted the walkway to the business and
create a hazard due to the fruit shedding. This approval is subject to a condition that you submit a
repla ting plan that proÙdes a 24-" boxed replacement tree on site and that the plan illustrate the
relan caping of this planter area. It is recommended that an additional street treet be provided behind the
sidew lk along Bascom Avenue. The landscaping plan shall refurbish the irrigation system in these areas so
that e installed plantings may be maintained in a healthy thriÙng condition.

This letter is in reference to a Liquidambar tree located at 1810 S. Bascom Rd, in
Ca pbell that we were asked to inspect and evaluate for present and future concerns,
This Liquidambar is located in a small planting area between the Parking Lot and the
buil ing, This tree is raising the sidewalk and causing a trip hazard. There is also a
cont nuous problem with the nuisance fruit that these trees produce. This tree has
bec me too large for the area it was planted in and should be removed based on current
and ture liability problems,
