BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING
MAP OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA
The City Council of the City of Campbell does ordain
as follows:
SECTION ONE: That the Zoning Map of the City of Campbell
together with amendments thereto, is hereby changed and
amended. Said amendments being outlined on the map attached
hereto entitled "Exhibit A."

Now is the time and place regularly set for
the public hearing on the application of Fred
Sahadi-Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Company for
zone change from C-2-S to C-2-0 at 761 East
Campbell Avenue. The Planning Director presented
a map delineating the property to be rezoned.
The rezoning of the subject property to C-2-0
is appropriate at this location and the overlay
zoning with built in review procedures will help
to assure a more desirable development of the
property. The Planning Commission recommended
approval by a 6-0 vote with one absent. Mr.
Sahadi was present. There being no objections,
oral or written, Councilman Smeed proposes and
moves that the hearing be closed, seconded by
Councilman Podgorsek and unanimously adopted.
Ordinance No. 821 is presented for first reading.
After the reading of the title of the ordinance
Councilman Smeed proposes and moves that furthe~

BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL RECOMMENDING ZONE
CHANGE FROM C-2-S TO C-2-0 ON PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 761 EAST CAMPBELL AVENUE.
After notification and public hearing as specified by law
on the application of Fred Sahadi and Pittsburgh Des Moines
Steel Company for zone change from C-2-S to C-2-0 on property
located at 761 East Campbell Avenue as per application filed
in the office of the Planning Department on November 19,1971,
and after presentation by the Planning Director, proponents,
and opponents, the hearing was closed.
After due consideration of all evidence presented, the
Planning Commission did find as follows:
That the rezoning of the subject property to C-2-0 is
appropriate at this location and the overlay zoning with
built in review procedures will help to assure a more desirable
development of the property.
The Planning Commission does hereby recommend that the
City Council adopt the Ordinance attached hereto enacting the
necessary legislation making effective the recommended zone
change.

Public hearing on the application of Fred Sahadi
and Pittsburg Des Moine Steel Company for zone
change from C-2-S to C-2-0 on property located
at 761 East Campbell Avenue. (See map and
applicant's statement attached).
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of C-2-0 zone.
STAFF DISCUSSION:
The applicants are requesting a change of zone to a general commercial
overlay zoning to permit the construction of a ten story/140 foot
office building on property located on the north side of East Campbell
Avenue adjacent to Highway #17.
This building will be located in front of the existing eighteen story
offièe building which is located in a C-2-0 zone. The remainder of
the shopping complex is in a C-2-S zone.
The height limit under C-2-S zoning is 75 feet maximum. However,
the overlay zoning provides that the applicant may apply for variations
in zoning requirements if a development plan is filed for consideration
and approved by the Planning Commission and City Council. The
applicant has filed an application requesting approval of a development
plan for a ten story building at this location and the item is scheduled
on this agenda.
