The City Council has established a landmark designation process which helps recognize and protect the historic resources of the community. Your home was identified as a potential historic resource by the City Council in 1984 and may be eligible for the "Historic Landmark Designation" status. Basically, the designation process establishes an Historic Overlay Zoning District on your property to protect it from demolition or unsensitive development. An owner of a property which is designated historically is able to take advantage of the State Historic Building Code.
