R~: PG&E Tree Remova! re!ease #71789 - Pollard Road Homeowners Association, Campbell,
California
Dear Bill:
This letter will confirm that the Pollard Road Homeowners Association declined the utility's
request to remove the trees identified by the above-captioned release. The decision to decline the
request for removal was made at the July 23 Board of Directors Meeting and has been duly recorded
in the minutes of that meeting. The Directors were unanimous in their decision and were supported
by the homeowners present at the meeting.
The Homeowners Association prefers to retain these trees to provide a visual and acoustic
screen between the Homeowners Association and Highway 85. Certified arborist, Warren
Nakamura, of Northwest Landscaping, is of the opinion that these trees can be maintained in this
form through appropriate pruning. Mr. Nakamura's letter of June 28, 2002 is enclosed for your
reference. The Association and Mr. Nakamura also believe that the larger trees, which you
indicated might be the subject of a future request for removal, should also remain as part of this
screen. The City of Campbell also indicated that they would not be favorably inclined to a future
request to remove the larger trees, especially those which were on the original development plan for
the Homeowners Association.
Thank you for meeting me on-site and attending the Board of Directors Meeting. Please call
me if you have any questions.
Yours truly,
BM/lr
