The pavers concept of two 3 foot wide tire paths divided by a 2 foot wide landscape strip is considered acceptable by the Community Development Director as satisfying the requirement for an eight foot wide driveway. Additionally, you are encouraged to review the possible installation of pavers in the asphalt drive area shown near the street frontage, if this improvement has not been installed yet. Prior to a building final for the secondary living unit this driveway should be installed and the park in-lieu should be paid. TDD 408.866.2790 .- ,'- 574 Kenneth Avenue Campbell, CA 95008 November 7,2000 Mr. Tim Haley City of Campbell, Community Development Department 70 North First Street Campbell, CA 95008 SUBJECT: Driveway revision request, 574 Kenneth Avenue Dear Mr. Haley: In 1997, we secured permits from the City of Campbell to construct a secondary living unit on our property at 574 Kenneth Avenue. The permit included provisions to construct a new driveway to the existing detached garage. We have now completed the construction of the second unit and constructed the asphalt portion of the driveway. We are requesting permission to modify the remaining portion of the driveway that is shown on the permitted plans as turf rings. We would like to modify this portion as shown on the attached plan dated 11/03/2000, and use interlocking pavers instead of turf rings. In reviewing the site plan, you will note that our garage is located on the opposite side of the property from the driveway. It can only be accessed by a drive that traverses our entire back yard. The revised driveway better accommodates the garden design that we would like to install in the back yard, and provides improved all-weather vehicle access. Please let me know if you need any additional information to review and approve this request, or if any revisions are needed.
