Tree Removal - 2002July 18,2002 Mr. Donald E. Raymond 1550 S. Winchester Blvd. Campbell, CA 95008 Re: Tree Removal Permit Application City File No.: PLN2002-00050 1550 S. Winchester Blvd. Dear Mr. Raymond: The Community Development Director has conditionally approved your application for an after-the- fact Tree Removal Permit (PLN2002-00050) to remove one Pepper tree on property located at 1550 S. Winchester Blvd., subject to the following condition of approval: 1. One 24-inch box Raywood Ash tree shall be planted along the eastern property line of the property to replace the Pepper tree on or before August 29. 2002, per the Tree Protection Regulations. The after-the-fact Tree Removal Permit has been approved based upon the City's determination that the tree was in poor health due to a split in the trunk and posed a danger of falling. The tree posed a safety hazard that could not be remedied through reasonable preventative procedures and the situation could not be reasonably remedied by means other than removal such that public health and safety required its removal. It is recommended that the stump be removed by persons who are experienced and bonded for the removal of trees and that the stump be ground out and the roots removed so there will not be re-growth of the tree. This approval is final in ten days unless a written appeal letter and the required fee of $100.00 is received at the City Clerk's Office, 70 N. First Street, Campbell on or before Monday. July 29.2002. A notice of tree removal will be posted on the property where it is visible to the public and the notice will be sent to all the property owners within 300 feet of the subject property. Should you have any questions regarding the above referenced matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at (408) 866-2143 or via email atstephaniew@cityofcampbell.com. PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF CAMPBELL SHARON FIERRO SECRETARY PLEASE NOTE: When calling about this Notice, Please refer to File No. PLN2002-00050 Address: 1550 S. Winchester Boulevard May 24, 2002 Mr. Donald E. Raymond 1550 S. Winchester Blvd.-STE 109 Campbell, CA 95008 Re: Tree Removal Permit Application 1550 S. Winchester Blvd. City File No.: PLN 2002-00050 Dear Mr. Raymond: The Campbell Planning Division has reviewed your after-the-fact Tree Removal Permit application for a 16-inch Pepper tree that was unlawfully removed at 1550 S. Winchester Blvd. within the C-PD (Condominium-Planned Development) Zoning District. The Campbell Tree Protection Regulations require that the replacement ratio for trees unlawfully removed in the C-PD Zoning District shall be four trees for each one tree removed. Therefore, four trees are required to be planted on site for the one tree that was unlawfully removed. If the site layout cannot reasonably accommodate the required number of replacement trees, in accordance with the tree replacement penalty ratio, the Community Development Director may approve a combination of a cash payment and a portion of the replacement trees. The in lieu fee is currently $350 per tree. The replanting plan shows the location for only one 24" box Raywood Ash tree. Either three additional trees will need to be planted within the net lot area or $1,050 will need to be paid to the City as in an in-lieu fee for the trees that cannot be accommodated on site. We look forward to your prompt action on this matter and for notifying us at your earliest convenience of the decision you have made. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at (408) 866-2143. Sincerely, Stephanie Willsey ~ Planner I cc: Geoff Bradley, Senior Planner
