Dear Mr.Taborek:
Thank you for your submittal of a Fence Exception application for new fences located at 1441 Walnut
Drive. The Fence Exception provides for an eight-foot tall wood fence along the northern and western
property lines where a six-foot fence is typically allowed.
The Community Development Director, upon recommendation from the Public Works Director, has
determined that the requested Fence Exception:
1. Will not impair vehicular or pedestrian safety;
2. Will result in a more desirable site layout from a maintenance and use standpoint;
3. Will not be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort or general welfare of the
City; and
4. Will not be detrimental or injurious to property and improvements in the neighborhood or to the
general welfare of the City.
Therefore, your request for a Fence Exception has been approved. The Fence Exception is granted
subject to the following condition of approval:
1 . The applicant shall obtain a building permit from the Campbell Building Division prior to
installation of the fences.

Proposed Fence

Richard and Arline Taborek are requesting this Fence Exception in the midst of a
major remodel to our house at the same address in order to provide a more
desirable site layout. In no instance is pedestrian or vehicular safety impaired
nor is the exception detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort or
general welfare of any residents or workers in the affected area. The proposed
Fence Exception is directly in accord with most existing adjacent and
surrounding fences in the area and provides a level of security and privacy
desired by ourselves and our neighbors. All fence sections requested for
exception affect only side and rear yard areas no closer than 15' from the front
property line.
It should be noted that most of the existing fence on the property is chain link
and that the entire chain link fence is being replaced by redwood and scalloped
brick fence, greatly improving the overall aesthetics of the area.
