Dear Mrs. Tsai,
The Campbell Planning Division has reviewed your Tree Removal Permit application
(PLN2014-102) for removal of one (1) tree located in the rear yard, near the northeast property
line at 74 N. 2"d Street. The application has been Approved.
The stated reasons for removing the tree are falling branches and potential damage to
surrounding properties. Disease or danger of falling is one of the conditions to approve tree
removal.
The required findings for a Tree Removal Permit include the following findings related to
structures and tree health:
"Disease or danger of falling. The tree or trees are diseased or presents a danger of
falling that cannot be controlled or remedied through reasonable preservation and/or
preventative procedures and practices such that the public health or safety requires
its removal. " ,[CMC 21.32.080(A)(1)J
During a site visit staff observed that there was browning of the tree needles. Additionally, an
arborist report provided by California Tree Solutions detailed the issues facing the tree and that
the tree is in declining health.
Based upon a rf;view of the application materials and an inspection of the property, the
Community Development Director has approved removal of the tree, finding that the tree is
diseased and in danger of falling (satisfying Finding #1 -Disease of danger of falling).
