Hi Denise,
We've determined that we can work administratively with you on revising the replacement species, so there is no
need to appeal the City's decision.
In the field we discussed changing the replacement species to a smaller species such as Crape Myrtle, while still
planting it iri the 36-inch box size. Alex Mordwinow, our Public Works Superintendent, indicated that a larger
species like Oak would not be appropriate in the selected location because of the proximity to adjacent City trees
and to the everhead power lines. The change in species is approved by Planning.
Incidentally, I did not find much in the way of an original approved landscaping plan. I did find an original
approved site plan on microfiche, but equipment limitations prevent shrinking the image so we can only print small
excerpts. I have attached a site plan excerpt for the affected area of the property. You mentioned that you
might prope~se future landscaping changes in this area beyond the planting of the replacement tree. If you decide
to move fonNard with that proposal, the attached plan excerpt may help you with a starting point for your plans.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this information.
Regards,
Mariya
