CALL TO ORDER
-Chair Hernandez called the Historic Preservation Board Regular Meeting of
Wednesday, February 3, 2016, to order at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers,
located at 70 North First Street, Campbell, California, and the following proceedings
were had ~to wit.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Board Member Moore abstained from approving the 12/16/15 minutes because she was
absent from the last meeting. The approval of the minutes was delayed until the next
meeting because a quorum could be not reached (Board Member Hernandez was
running late). The minutes will be voted on during the March 23~d regular meeting.

1. None
OLD BUSINESS (moved up)
1. Historic home tour/Mobile app: The Board requested a study session to discuss the
mobile application. Staff will reach out to each board member to determine a date.
2. Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 21.33) /Historic Context Statement: Staff
Cindy McCormick gave the Board a tentative schedule for updating the Historic
Preservation Ordinance starting in July 2016 and ending in April or May 2017.
ANNOUNCEMENTS/COMMUNICATIONS (moved up)
1. Update on Mt Umunhum Conservancy (SCC Heritage Commission) actions. Board
Member Moore indicated that the Santa Clara County Heritage Commission would _
be considering a recommendation to add the Mount U_ munhum Radar Tower to the
County of Santa Clara Heritage Resource Inventory. The meeting -will be held on
February 18;.201.6 at 6:30pm.
2. Brochures: No update
3. Historic plaques in Downtown Campbell: Board Member Blake indicated that the
weather is still causing delays. Other events such as the Super Bowl are also
causing delays.
4. Training: The Board would like to schedule a group training before the CLG deadline.
in September.
5. General Plan Update: No update
NEW BUSINESS (moved down)
1. Mural: Board Member Moore would like the Board to consider preservation (or photo
documenting) of the mural at the Bank of the West Building in the Pruneyard
shopping center. Board Member Blake indicated that the. mural may be too large to
save, but could be photographed:
Board Member Moore will research information on the artist and potential
preservation options.
Board Member Moore will draft a letter to City staff to forward to the property owner,
encouraging the new tenant to preserve the mural.
Board Member Blake made a motion to save the mural if possible. Board Member
Moore seconded. Motion Passed 4-0-0.

2. CLG: Board. Member Hernandez made a motion to approve the Certified Local
Government (CLG) annual report for the reporting period between October 1 2014
and September 30 2015. Board Member Blake seconded. Motion Passed 4-0-0.
The report will be emailed to the California State Office of Historic Preservation.
3. Election:
Board Member Hernandez made a motion to elect Board Member Blake as the Vice
Chair for the calendar year. Board Member Moore seconded. Motion Passed 4-0-0.
Board Member Blake made a motion to elect Board Member Hernandez as the
Chair for the calendar year. Board Member Moore seconded. Motion Passed 4-0-0.
Board Member Walter volunteered to remain as the HPB representative to the
. SARC. Vote Passed 4-0-0. _

Adjourned at 4:30 p.m. to a regular meeting to be held on March 23 2016, at 4:00 p.m.,
