CALL TO ORDER
Chair Walter called the Historic Preservation Board Regular Meeting of Wednesday,
June 24,-2015; to order at 4:03 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at 70 North
First Street, Campbell, California, and the following proceedings were had to wit.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Vice Chair Niczewicz made a motion to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of May
27, 2015 as drafted. Board Member Blake seconded. Approved 4-0-1 (Hernandez
absent).
ORAL REQUESTS
Associate Planner Stephen Rose briefly presented information pertaining to the
Quonset but at 241 Railway Avenue, noting that a historic evaluation performed on the
structure found that the structure did not appear to be eligible for listing in the California
Historic Preservation Board -Regular Meeting Minutes

Register of Historic Places or National Register of Historic Places. As the property is not
considered historic, the structure would not be required to go through the HPB for
review or approval for removal.
PUBLIC HEARING
1. Public Hearing to consider the application of Rvan Slater and Karis Triska
Trustee to rescind the Historic Resource Inventory (HRI) designation from
property located at 119 S. Second Street (See Attachment).
Cindy McCormick, Senior Planner, presented the report.
.Chair Walter opened the public hearing.
No one spoke on the item.
Chair Walter closed the public hearing.
Vice-Chair Niczewicz and .other members of the Board indicated that while it could
not be found that the structure no longer met the criteria for potential consideration
of inclusion on the 'Inventory, the current owner did not have. the benefit of
participating in the voluntarily process, as directed by the City Council. And had they
been aware of the pending designation they may have withdrawn the property from
consideration. Board Member Hernandez confirmed with staff that there would not
be a recission fee.
Board Member Blake made a motion to recommend that the Planning Commission
recommend to the City Council to rescind the Historic Resource Inventory
designation.from property located at .119 S. Second Street. Vice Chair Niczewicz
seconded. Recommended for Approval 5-0.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Forecast for the Future Workshop facilitated by Rebecca Rvan on July 20, 2015
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Board is asked to select one member to participate in the
workshop.
Vice-Chair Niczewicz was the only Board member that was.. available to attend,
however he will only be able to attend for half of the workshop due to a previous
commitment. The Board asked staff to send them more information on the
workshop.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Proposal for new brochures (tri-fold brochures for realtors, etc.): Discussion on
next steps regarding preparation of new brochures.

Board Member Blake acknowledged that she had spoken to a realtor who indicated
that they are in the business to sell properties and are not interested in the nuances
of being, on the Historic Inventory. However, the Board discussed the possibility of
providing the information to realtors at one of their regularly scheduled meetings.
Board Member Hernandez indicated that she had sent out the draft brochure for
review. Board Members Hernandez and Moore volunteered to be on the
subcommittee to finalize the brochure which should include what the process entails
and what being on the Inventory means.
ANNOUNCEMENTS/COMMUNICATIONS
1. Update on the next round of historic plaques in Downtown Campbell.
Board Member Blake indicated that the plaques were in production and almost done
and that the Board received a donation to pay for the increased costs of the plaques.
The .plaques .are being organized through an effort with Parks and Recreation, and
- are not a HPB project. _
2. Update on '155 Alice Avenue -Mills Act Contract and Landmark Designation
Cindy McCormick indicated that the Planning Commission recommended that the
City Council approve the 155 Alice Avenue application for a Mills Act Contract and
Landmark Designation. The applications will go to the City Council on July 7, 2015.
3. Update on 99 Alice Avenue.
Cindy McCormick indicated that the Planning Commission approved the exterior -
alterations, a building permit was issued, and construction is underway. Board
member Hernandez confirmed with staff that the structure had previously received a
`stop work order' and that the approval was for the work that had been started
without a permit.
