CALL TO ORDER
Chair Walter called the Historic Preservation Board Regular Meeting of Wednesday,
July 22, 2015, to order at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at 70 North
First Street, Campbell, California, and the following proceedings were had to wit.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
There were two corrections made to -the minutes. Under old business, paragraph 2,
replace Board member "Blake" with Board member "Walters". Under announcements
item 1, add the following language "The plaques are being organized through an effort
with Parks and Recreation, and are not a HPB project."
Vice Chair Niczewicz made a motion to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of June
24, 2015 as amended. Board Member Moore seconded. Approved 4-0-1 (Hernandez
absent).

ORAL REQUESTS
Cindy McCormick, HPB staff liaison, presented an email and pictures from Monica
Grandia, owner of the property at 146 Alice Avenue, indicating some interest in applying
for the Mills Act. Mr. and Mrs. Grandia would like to learn more about the process and
receive some feedback from the HPB prior to filing a formal application.
The HPB directed staff to place the item on the next agenda for discussion.
PUBLIC HEARING
1. None
NEW BUSINESS
Special Meeting Request: Ms. McCormick presented a request to hold a. special
meeting on August 12t" in lieu of the regular meeting on August 25th. The application
for a change in use of the Growers National Bank building requires a 10 day notice
and Public Hearing. The application also involves expanding the existing mezzanine
into a full second floor.
The HPB directed staff to hold a special meeting and Public Hearing on August 12th
in lieu of the regular meeting on August 25tH
2. Historic Home Tour: Ms. McCormick informed the HPB that a City Council member
had asked if the HPB had given consideration to a historic home tour in the City of
Campbell.
The HPB directed staff to agendize discussion of a historic home tour during the
regular September 22"d HPB meeting. The HPB indicated that proper execution of
the tour should take about two years of planning, with a potential date for the tour
being in spring 2017. Funds from the tour could be used to help offset costs of
historic plaques. ,
OLD BUSINESS

ANNOUNCEMENTS/COMMUNICATIONS
Report on the Forecast for the Future Workshop facilitated by Rebecca Ryan on July
20, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: ,
Vice-Chair Niczewicz attended the workshop and gave a brief overview of the
workshop which was led by a `futurist' and ,included breaking into groups and
discussing future needs and scenarios and how to deal with them. There was also a

brief presentation to the City Council on June 21, 2015 which can be watched by
video for anyone interested. Vice-Chair Niczewicz indicated that he would like to
hear what the outcome of the Forecast for the Future meeting will be on the General
Plan update.
2. Update on historic plaques in Downtown Campbell.
Board Member Blake indicated that the plaques were still in production.
3. Update on brochures (tri-fold brochures for realtors, etc.):
Chair Walter indicated that he would be meeting with Board Member Moore on
August 5t" to discuss the brochures and will report back on the next agenda.
4. Update on HPB Facebook page:
Board Member Blake gave an, update on the HPB facebook page.
5. Update on 155 Alice Avenue.
Ms. McCormick indicated that the Planning Commission and City Council approved
the Landmark designation and Mills Act contract for 155 Alice.
