CALL TO ORDER
Chair Blake called the Historic Preservation Board Regular Meeting of Wednesday,
April 25, 2017, to order at 4:15 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at 70 North
First Street, Campbell, California, and the following proceedings were had to wit.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Tabled due to a lack of quorum (Anderson absent, Moore abstained).

NEW BUSINESS
Meeting Time: The HPB would like to change the time of the HPB meetings to 5:00
p.m. The City Clerk is researching what the process would be to change the time.
2. Historic Preservation Month: Chair Blake will lead the pledge and at the May 2"d City
Council meeting proclaiming May as Historic Preservation Month. It is also the 100t"
anniversary of the Hyde House. A display table will be set up for the meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Brochure: Board Member Walter presented the most recent version of the brochure.
The HPB discussed whether the brochure should feature homes owned by board
members or try and find other homeowners willing to put a photo of their home on
the brochure. Chair Blake is working on finding volunteers.
2. Historic Preservation Mobile application: Staff indicated that Federico (intern) was
setting up both the Apple and Android beta tests of the Ainsley House. Federico is
working with the Museum on the final touches.
3. Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 21.33): The HPB continued their
discussion regarding update of the City's Historic Preservation Ordinance.
Chair Blake and board member Walter will meet with staff to go over the powerpoint
presentation before the City Council study session. The HPB would like to suggest
that the Council adopt fines for demolition and demolition by neglect, similar to Los
Gatos.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS (no discussion)
91 S. 2"d Street (potential designation as Landmark). Chair Blake indicated that the
owner was not agreeable to designating their home as a Landmark.
2. HPB Member requests for future agenda items. None
HPB MEMBER /STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS /COMMUNICATIONS
1. 300 N. Central -Vice Chair Anderson informed the HPB that the home is being
neglected.
2. General Plan Update -Staff announced that the next GPAC meeting would be held
on May 31st.
3. 149 Harrison, 72 Sunnyside, 211 Sunnyside -Staff informed the HPB that these
properties are for sale and have been generating a lot of questions.

ADJOURNMENT
Adjourned at 5:15 pm to a City Council study session to be held on May 16, 2017, at
6:30 p.m., City Council Chambers, 70 North First Street, Campbell, California, to
discuss the update to the Historic Preservation Ordinance.
The next regular meeting (4th Wednesday) will be held on May 24, 2017, at 4:15 p.m.,
City Council Chambers, 70 North First Street, Campbell, California.
