CITY OF CAMPBELL
PLANNING DEPT.
Dear Madam:
We have been providing nutritious hot lunches
to Canyon Heights Academy for the last four years from our current Catering
business location at 1614 Pomeroy Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95051. Since the
Academy has moved into the old Hazelwood Elementary School buildings at 775
Waldo Road, Campbell, CA 95008, we too are relocating our kitchen to the
existing full service kitchen at the same buildings behind the lunchroom.
Proposed Use: To provide Nutritious - Hot - Lunch program to the Academy
as done for the last four years.
Square footage: Kitchen - 564 square feet (24' -0" Lx 23.5" W)
Storage area: 60 Square Feet ( 12'-0" Lx 5' .00" W)
Total area: 624 Square feet.
Adjacent Uses: Lunchroom for staff.
Garbage disposal: Majority of our lunches are pre-cooked that need only
heating. Therefore, there would not be an accumulation
of garbage. If there is, it would be very minimal.
This is a full service kitchen and is not
in operation since the Hazelwood Elementary moved out in 2004. The only items
missing from this kitchen are the Cook tops / rangers and the ovens. Fortunately
we have those item readily available with us to be installed as soon as we moved in.
I believe Canyon Heights do not have the full enrollment as yet. Hence, we
may have to provide hot lunches to a few nearby schools in order to cut
down our losses until they achieve the full enrollment.
School Caterers is a fully licensed business
and have been in operation for the last five years. We have two trucks and
five employees. For the last five years we have been paying for permits and
other licenses to Santa Clara City. Our relocation would benefit the Campbell
city in revenue and possible employment opportunities to some ofthe
Campbell residents.
Based on the above facts, we seek your
assistance in getting a business permit to operate at the new location.
Yours
