signs.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Approval, subje— to the following conditions:
1. Property to be landscaped as indi.cated aid as added in "red" on
plans.
2. Landscape plan indicating type of plant material and location of
hose bibs or sprinkler system to be submitted for approval of
the Planning Director at time of application for building permit.
3. Faithful performance bond in the amouat of S500.00 to be posted
to insure landscaping within three (3) months of completion of
construction, or applicant may file written agreement to complete
landscaping prior to final building department clearance,

ST.1FF DISCUSSION:
The proposed revisions indicate a change from the existing flat roof
design to a built-up roofing design of cedar shakes over gypsum board
ar.d a change in signing from the roof -mounted signs to sign locations
below the redwood fascia. The exception would he the Safeway sign
which is proposed to have a location similar to the one that now exists.
The applicant is >tified that he !fiall comply with all applicable
Codes or Ordinances of the City of Campbell which pertain to this
development and are not herein specified.

1. Landscaping Plan dated 4-15-71 (Exhibit "A")
2. Partial Site Plan dated 6-14-71 showing revised configuration and location
of the raised concrete planters at the north end of the building. (Exhibit "B").
The Exhibit "A." drawing was previously submitted to your for approval on Aprii 16, 1971.
The Exhibit "B" drawing indicates the revisions which I understand were acceptable
to you when our discussion was held at your office on June 11, 197).
The north-east planter on Exhibit "B" was relocated across the exit driveway in
order to avoid conflict with an existing catch basin.
The planter which is now shown on Exhibit "B" at the north-west corner or the
Safeway Store will be given prominence by installing a tree in addition to the
lower planting material.
