Mr. Kee reported that on March 6, 1979 the Planning Commission approved plans
to alloo-: the construction of a retail commercial building. This approval will
expire on March 6, 1980 unless the Planning Commission approves chis request
for an extension of time.
There have been no changes in the Zoning or General Plan in this area since
the origin.l approval.
There being no discussion on this item, Commissioner Pack moved that S 79-s
be given a one-year extension of time for previously approved plans to con-
struct a retail commercial building at 3495 S. Bascom Avenue, seconded by
Commissioner Meyer and unanimously adopted.

Commissioner Kasolas reported that the Site and Architectural Review Committee had met
with the applicant and his representative, Mr. Larry Laoier, this morning. The
Committee is recommending approval of this application. and is also recommending tha�
any signing for the development is to be under a separate application.

Mr. Larry Lagier, representing the applicant, appeared before the Commission to
review the plans of the development. He stated that the tower on the p!ans was
only an Identifying symbol, that the building was designed with numerous in and
out lines, the entrance is marked with a special type of paving, and the project
is 30 percent landscaped.
It was moved by Commissioner Dickson, seconded by Commissioner Vierhus, and
unanimously adopted that S 79-8 be approved, subject to the following conditions:
I. Property to be fenced and landscaped as indicated and/or added in red on plans.
2. Landscaping plan imitating type and size of plant mate 31, and location of hose
bibs or sprinkler system to be submitted for approval of the Planing Director
prior to application for building permit.

Commissioner Dickson inquired as to why staff is recommending a change in zoning
from Professional Office to Commercial for the proper-.y involved in S 79-8.
Mr. Kee indicated that the change was a formality necessary for continuity with
the General Plan. He stated that when the property had come into the City it was
zoned C-2-S, but somewhere along the way the General Plan indicated Professional
Office. Mr. Kee further explained that the property immediately to the north of
this parcel was in San Jose and was planned for commercial land use. Since the
State requires that the General Plan be consistent with the zoning, it is necessary
for the Commission to adopt a resolution setting a date for a public hearing to
consider changing the General Plan from Professional Office to Commercial for this
property (3595 S. Bascom Avenue).

In accordance with Section 21.42.010, Chapter 21.42 of the Campbell Municipal
Code of the City of Campbell, the undersigned hereby makes application for approval
of the attached plans.
I. The said improvements will be located on land described as follows:

2. The nature and purpose of the proposed improvements are:
(The applicant should attach a written statement setting forth any
information he believes will be helpful to the Planning Commission
and other City Officers in considering his application).

and one returned to the applicant.
5. The application shall be accompanied by a $75.00 filing fee.
6. The City r,f Campbell requires installation of all utilities, including
electric, telephone and television cables to be underground.
