ors responsibility to relocate It as per the landscape architects

II. LANDSCAPE MATERIALS
A. PLANT MA-ERIAL

Native soil shall be soil excavated from the planting holes
(from of rock over one-half inch in diameter). The materials
.hall be thoroughly mixed until they lose their individual
identities.
3. All soil preparation and planting operations shall be conducted
under favorable weather conditions only. Soil shall not be
worked when excessively dry or vet and the landscape architect
reserves the rightto stop any work taking place during a period
when conditions are considered detrimental to soil structure or
plant growth.
C. PLANTING TREES, SHRUBS, 6 VINES
All pits for plants @hall be dug square per plan detail, Level
size of holes shall be two time diameter of root ball and
one-half again as deep as the depth of root M11. Soli at •idea
and bottoms *hall be loosened by scarifying to ensure root
penetration (no Smooth circular sides).
Pits shall be Mckfilled with 'prepared soil' to the bottom of
the root ball. The plant shall then be set in an upright posi-
tion in the center of the hole, and the space ♦round it back -
filled with planting six. When the backfill around the plant
is approximately two-thirds completed, the plant shall be
thoroughly watered, after which the backfill *hall be completed
to the grade of the surrounding area. The crown of the plant
shall be 1 1/2' above (minimum) finished grade.

around each plant (not in a turf area) to retain water. Water

D. PLANTING GROUND COVERS
Planting shall take place in the existing prepared soil which shall
be moist and friable, never dry or vet and soggy. The moist condl-

the Plant List. They shall be planted in evenly spaced rows with
staggered triangular spacing and around the shrubs a trees to with-

E. PLANTING TURF GRASS
After all soil amendment and fertilizers have been applied and
cultivated into @o11, all areas shall be fine grad*d. All ridges and
depressions shall be removed, and the areas shall be smooth, con-
tinuous, fire planes, that ensure proper surface drainage. All rocks,
soil lumps and deleterious materials larger than one inch *hall be
removed and the areas raked and compacted with a 200 pound roller.
The contractor •hall avoid any additional compaction of the soils
after treatment, and shall not permit vehicular or equlpme•:t traffic
over such areas. In the event of such compaction, the con -rector
shall be required to recultivate any areas thus compacted.

acceptance will be granted. If aspects of the project are incomplete
