Dear Sirss _
Reference attached sign application for Mr. Steak Restaurant at 2201 S. Bascom Ave.
Campbell Ca.
As you can see from the attached photos he has a sign problem. Heading in a
southerly direction trees are blocking his sign as well as the offset in the street
is very detrimental to h.s sign in ti.e present location. In the other direction
trees and the 7-11 sign block out his sign till you are within approximately 300 feet
of the restaurant.
The following things were taken into consideration when suggesting the relocation
for this signs
1. Cost to the customer of relocating the sign.
2. If the sign was lowered to the height of the building, the sign would have to
project over the sidewalk approximately 610" in order to be seen heading In a
southerly direction due to roof and overhang of the buildinq.
3. ;f sign was revamped to a single face sign and installed on the front of the
building it would be less advantageous than the present location.
1: If the sign was relocated to another pole and installed between building and
driveway, sign would still have to have a i,eight of approximately 25'0" and
still project over the sidewalk 200" to be seen when heading south. Also due
to the construction of the sign it would be necessary to revamp the sign at
tremendous cost to the customer to install sign side mounted on pole. Also
this would create a hazard to people parking at this location.
5. Irstalling sign as per attached drawing is the most advantagous to the customer
and the least expensive to him. The poles existing are not part cf the
Wilding, They go through the overhang of the building only and not secured
to the building. Below ti.e roof line they are enclosed In a wood enclosure
as well as a k Ick lamer.
