STAFF REmIETIDATION
That the Planning Commission approve this request, subject to the attached
conditions.
STAFF DISCUSSION
The applicant is requesting approval of a sign permit to reface a portion
of an existing free-standing sign. The sign stands 15 feet high and the
Lipper portion of the sign (which will remain unchanged) measures approxi-
mately 54 sq.ft. The lower portion which is to be refaced measures approxi-
mately 25 sq.ft. Because the sign exceeds the 14 foot height and 50 sq.ft.
area requirements, it must be approved by the Planning Commission.
Staff is of the opinion that the ne,.v sign can be reduced to 13 sq.ft. by
eliminating the upper and lover borders but leaving the copy as presented.
This would result in a total combined sign area of approximately 67 sq.ft.
Because the free-standing sign itself is existing and very close to meeting
the requirements, Staff is of the opinion that the face change should be
approved with the reduction in sign area as outlined above.

1. New sign shall be reduced to approximately 13 sq.ft.
2. Applicant to obtain all necessary permits from the Building Dept.
