Ave. (The Pruneyard) in a C-2-S (General
Commercial) Zoning District.
Commissioner Perrino reported that this application was considered by the
Site and Architectural Review Committee. The Committee is recommending
approval, with the existing signs to remain, and one sign to be placed on
the bell tower.
Commissioner Dickson noted that he is opposed to approving signage which
does not conform to the sign ordinance.
Commissioner Olszewski stated that he felt this particular business has
somewhat of a hardship because of its location.

Martha's Vineyard known as 1875 S. Bascom Ave. (in The Pruneyard) in a
C-2-S (General Commercial) Zoning District.
STAFF gECOMMENDATION
That the Planning Commission adopt the attached findings and approve this
application, subject to the attached conditions.
STAFF DISCUSSION
The applicant is requesting approval of two 32 sq. t:. signs reading
"Martha's Vineyard." The signs will be a single greer neon tube and be
placed on the east and west elevations of the tower a: the restaurant.
The signs would face the parking lot and the courtyard at the Pruneyard.
Two existing signs measuring approximately 10 sq. fteach are located on
the wall just below the windows of the restaurant.
As the Commission is aware, the restaurant is located on the second floor
of the Pruneyard and is not highly visible or easy to locate. Therefore,
Staff is of the opinion that the two signs as proposed are needed to
adequately identify the business. However, with this approval Staff
recommends that the existing 10 sq. ft. sign on the east elevation of the
building he removed as the new signs will be adequate.

2. Applicant to obtain all necessary permits from the
Building Department.
