*Environmental Determination: The item is Categorically Exempt under
CEQA, therefore, no environmental action is required.

The applicant is requesting approval of a second 25 square foot wall sign, in
addition to a previously approved wall mounted sign and a freestanding sign,
for the Jack -in -the -Box restaurant located at 1737 S. Bascom Avenue. The
property is located on Bascom Avenue, between Hamilton Avenue and
Campisi Drive.

Previous Site Approval The Planning Commission approved UP 92-11 and S
92-06 allowing the remodel and expansion of the Jack -in -the -Box restaurant
The conditions of approval for the project required a sign application to
address new signage at the site.
Sign Application: The applicant submitted a sign application for two 25
square foot wall signs and one 36 square foot, 14' high freestanding sign.
Based upon the allowable signage permitted in commercial districts, the
Planning Director approved one 25 square foot wall sign and one 14' hibh
freestanding sign. A second wall mounted sign requires Planning
Commission approval.
