After notification and public hearing as specified by law on the application of
Mr. George Tsagaris for a Use Permit and approval of an on -sale beer 6 wine
license on property known as 2180 S. Bascom Ave. in a C-2-S (General
Cos er,;Al) Zoning District, as per the application filed in the Planning
Depa , on January 13, 1989; and, after presentation by the Planning
Directs i .,k. nents and opponents, the hearing was closed.
After o.j consideration of all evidence presented, the Planning Commissicn did
find as ioltows:
1. The establishment, maintenance or operation of beer and wine sales will not
be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort or general
welfare of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of the proposed
use, or be detrimental to the neighborhood of general welfare of the City
of Campbell.
2. The proposed beer and wine sales use is compatible with other uses in the
area.
Based on the above findings, the Planning Commission does hereby grant the
requested Use Permit, subject to the following conditions:
1. This Use Permit allows an on -sale beer and wine license in conjunction with
a food service operation. A modification to this type of operation will
require subrequent approval by the Planning Commission.
The applicant is notified as part of this application that he/she is required
to comply with all applicable Codes and/or Ordinances of the City of Campbell
and the State of California which pertain to this development and are not
herein specified.

4. UP 89-02 Public hearing to consider the application of
Tsagaris, G. Mr. George Tsagaris for approval of a Use Permit
to allow an on -sale beer and wine license on
property known as 2180 3. Bascom Avenue, in a
C-2-S (General Commercial) Zoning District.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
That the Planning Commission adopt a Resolution, in^luding the attached
findings, approving the applicant's request for on -sale beer and wine at this
location.
STAFF DISCUSSION
The applicant is requesting approval of a Conditional Use Permit to allow an
on -sale beer and wine license in conjunction with an established Greek Food
Restaurant. The restaurant occupies a building of approximately 1360 square
feet.
This building is situated on the southeast corner of S. Bascom Avenue and Shady
Dale Court. It is surrounded by the following uses:
North: Office/retail (title company) and Computerland
South: Retail (Hair Salon)
East: Single -Family residential (homes)
West: Pre-school and animal hospital
A graphic illustration of the surrounding uses is included in this report.
This matter was referred to the Police Department for their review and
rsce ndation. They have no specific objections to this proposed use. Staff
is of the opinion that the proposed On -sale Liquor License is compatible with
the adjacent development.
Within the immediate area of this site, there are three restaurants which have
on -sale licenses, and one convenience store (7-11) which has an approved
off -sale liquor license.
