Campbell AvenueCampbell, CA 95008Dear Mr. ReganRe: Accessibility Compliance Springbridge International School – Tenant Improvement Thank you for using United Spinal Association’s Accessibility Services team to confirm that the Building Permit Resubmittal plans dated February 3, 2017 for the Springbridge International School Tenant Improvement project, located on 1625 W. Campbell Avenue, Campbell, California 95008 will comply with the 2010 ADA Standards as well as the 2016 California Building Code’s Accessibility Requirements.I. OverviewThe Springbridge International School was constructed prior the January 26, 1993 effective date of the new construction requirements of the (original) 1991 ADA Standards§11B-202.4, 2016 California Building Code and §36.403, Subpart D of 28 CFR Part 36 (Department of Justice’s Title III Regulations) require that proportionate costs associated with an alteration to a primary function area (i.e., a major activity for which the facility is intended) be spent on achieving an accessible path of travel. An accessible path of travel includes:- Accessible parking; - An accessible exterior route to an accessible entrance;- An accessible interior route to primary function areas; - Accessible toilet rooms. The February 3, 2017 plans depict this accessible path of travel meeting state and federal accessibility requirements. The usable (i.e., gross floor area) of the Springbridge International School is less than 3,000 square feet. 11B - 206.2.3, Exception, 1.2 and § 36.404 of DOJ’s Regulations do not require an accessible route (i.e., elevator) be provided to a floor less than the 3,000 square feet. Exception 1.2 also indicates that if a reasonable portion of all facilities and accommodations normally sought and used by the public in such a building are accessible to and usable by persons with disabilities. As the first floor of the tenant improvement is accessible this has also been achieved.II. Conclusion Building Permit Resubmittal plans dated February 3, 2017 for the Springbridge International School Tenant Improvement project, located on 1625 W.
