Applicant Phone Call Notes (2019-11-22)1 Daniel Fama From:Daniel Fama Sent:Friday, November 22, 2019 10:44 AM To:Daniel Fama Subject:680-700 McGlincy Notes Call with Kelly Snider – 10:00 AM, 11/22/2019  Kelly indicated that Trojan would like the Council to approve the project as presented, but barring that have the Council adopt a COA directing a reduction in square-footage/FAR (10,000 SF as shown on revised exhibit) with an increased setback and/or building setback, at Community Development Director’s discretion.  However, this approach requires the Council to approve a building for which they don’t have drawings for. And it puts a tremendous amount of discretion on the Community Development Director.  There are basically three options moving forward for the Council:  Option 1: Approve project as presented.  Option 2: Approve with revision (either PC’s recommendation or applicant’s compromise). However, this option runs the risk of approving a project that may not be viable without Fire review being completed.  Option 3: Continue the hearing and direct staff to work with Fire to approve two options (PC’s recommendation and applicant’s compromise) and return to Council. Would result in a loss of time (months).  Daniel advised Kelly to prepare rendering from a rear-yard to better illustrate the massing relationship from the neighbors’ side.  Kelly will get back to Daniel by Monday with a decision on whether Trojan wants to offer the compromise or ask for approval as presented.
