Subject: AT&T Wings Shopping Center Wireless Facility CVL01280 – Noise Compliance Report
Ashley: based on our review of the project drawings and technical specifications, we are pleased to
submit this summary of our noise analysis of the supporting equipment for the proposed AT&T Wings
Shopping Center Wireless Communications Facility (CVL01280) to be installed at 1770 West Campbell
Avenue, Campbell, CA, located in the jurisdiction of the City of Campbell.
PROJECT CRITERIA
City of Campbell Municipal Code Section 21.16.070 - Noise
Item Q in Section 21.34.060, Submittal Requirements for Wireless Communications Facilities, contains
a requirement for a noise study of all associated facility equipment, demonstrating compliance with
the City’s noise regulations.
Albeit buffered by roadways, the project is surrounded by multi-family residential to the north, west,
and south; the shopping center extends to the east. Item E.1. in Section 21.16.070 – Noise contains the
following residential noise standard applicable to the project:
E. Residential noise standards.
1. Noise from stationary sources. New residential development shall conform to a
stationary source noise exposure standard of sixty-five dBA for exterior noise levels
and forty-five dBA for interior noise levels.
NOISE ANALYSIS
Our review of the project documents revealed four pieces of equipment containing rotating mechanical
elements (fans), producing mild noise emissions, presented below in Table 1:

[1]Reference distance for the equipment noise levels was not provided by the vendor; a reference distance of 3-feet
presents a typical, industry standard for reference noise measurement distances.
[2] Noise data was not provided for these equipment. The fans within these equipment should perform similarly to the fan
serving the heat exchanger in the NetXtend unit, therefore we used the NetXtend noise data to model noise emissions from
these equipment.
We have summarized the calculated noise levels at each property line with a residential adjacency in
Table 2 as compared to the City of Campbell Exterior Residential Noise Standards.

Exterior noise levels due to the supporting equipment are calculated to be well below the City of
Campbell Exterior Residential Noise Standards. As noise levels attenuate with distance, noise levels at
the actual residences would be even lower as the residences are located further away from the
supporting equipment than the property lines. The City of Campbell Interior Residential Noise Standard
should be met at all residences surrounding the project as calculated exterior noise levels are lower
than the Interior Residential Noise Standards.
CONCLUSION
Based on the project documentation, our noise analysis indicates that the proposed AT&T Wings
Shopping Center Wireless Communications Facility (CVL01280) would comply with the City of Campbell
Municipal Noise Code.
