CC Resolution 13156 - Accept Improvements for Camden Avenue Resurfacing Project 21-SS RESOLUTION NO. 13156
ACCEPT THE IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE CAMDEN AVENUE RESURFACING PROJECT 21-
SS; DIRECT THE CITY ENGINEER TO FILE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION; AND
AUTHORIZE THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PERFORM A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 12970 approving the plans and specifications,
and authorizing the advertisement of bids for the Camden Avenue Resurfacing Project 21-SS; and
WHEREAS, on May 24, 2023, the City received and opened three bid proposals from Radius
Earthwork, Inc. of Campbell, Interstate Grading and Paving, Inc. of South San Francisco, and
Redgwick Construction Company of Oakland with the base bids in the amounts of $1,198,909.67,
$1,350,380.40, and $1,420,909, respectively; and
WHEREAS, on July 18, 2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 13013 awarding the
construction contract to Radius Earthwork, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the City awarded the project to Radius Earthwork, Inc. with construction contract fully
executed on August 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, in November of 2023, the Camden Avenue Resurfacing project was completed in
accordance with the plans and specifications; and
WHEREAS, the project resurfaced 0.35 miles of roadway along Camden Avenue, constructed four
(4) new ADA compliant driveways, installed approximately 3,030 square feet of sidewalk and 510
linear feet of curb and gutter, and planted eleven (11) new trees along Winchester Boulevard as
mitigation of tree removals near 750 Camden Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the property owners of 882 and 920 Camden Avenue are notified of the final cost
obligations associated with the improvements and that the NIOs will be recorded with the County of
Santa Clara, Office of County Clerk-Recorder; and
WHEREAS, the total available project balance is $127,070.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell hereby accept
the improvements for the Camden Avenue Resurfacing Project 21-SS; directs the City Engineer to
file the Notice of Completion; and authorize the Finance Director to perform a budget adjustment
returning the remaining project balance to fund balance (Vehicle Impact Fee) to fund future projects.

Scope of Work: The project resurfaced 0.35 miles of roadway along Camden Avenue from Winchester Boulevard to
the end(cul-de-sac)and the east-west segment to Dell Avenue. In addition,the project constructed four(4)new ADA
compliant driveways at 750, 778, 882 and 920 Camden Avenue and retrofitted the driveway at Timber Cove Drive.
Approximately 3,030 square feet of sidewalk and 510 linear feet of curb and gutter were installed along the east side of
the street.New traffic signage and striping were installed to match existing striping. Eleven(11)new trees were planted
along Winchester Boulevard as tree mitigation resulting from the removal of the palm trees near 750 Camden Avenue.
