Dear Mr. and Mrs. Williams:
Thank you for your submittal of a Fence Exception application for new fences located at 1138 Bent
Drive. The Fence Exception provides for a seven-foot, eleven-inch tall wood fence along the eastern side
property line and the rear property line where a six-foot fence is allowed.
The Community Development Director, upon recommendation from the Public Works Director, has
determined that the requested Fence Exception:
1. Will not impair vehicular or pedestrian safety;
2. Will result in a more desirable site layout from a maintenance and use standpoint;
3. Will not be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort or general welfare of the
City; and
4. Will not be detrimental or injurious to property and improvements in the neighborhood or to the
general welfare of the City.
Therefore, your request for a Fence Exception has been approved. The Fence Exception is granted
subject to the following condition of approval:
1. The applicant shall obtain a building permit from the Campbell Building Division prior to
installation of the fences.

Dear Sir:
We, the undersigned, are the owners to the above mentioned parcel. We
hereby request an exception to the fence height requirement of Campbell's
ordnance in order that we may construct a new rear lot fence along our
common border with APN 288-06-65 (1139 Cameo Drive) and a new partial side
lot fence along our common border with APN 288-06-051 (1152 Bent Drive)
consistent with the drawings which are attached. Written consents to the
design and construction by the owners of those parcels, and by the owners of
APN 288-06-049 (1124 Bent Drive), who constitute all our adjacent property
owners, are also attached.
The fence design is basically 1 in. x 6 in. board-on-board construction
with 6 in. x 6 in. posts secured to a running concrete foundation, as depicted in
the attached design. Each section will be approximately 7 ft. 4 in. wide.
The height exception is required because the height of the fence posts
will be 7 ft. 11 in. and the elevation of the top of each section will be 7 ft. 4 in.
as depicted in the attached design. The design of the fence is intended to be
consistent with the other rear yard fences in the immediate vicinity, which are 8
ft. or higher. This applies particularly to the side yard fences for APN 288-06-
65 (1139 Cameo Drive) and the rear yard fence for APN 288-06-051 (1152 Bent
Drive), and will result in a harmonious junction of all fences at the common
corner of those lots with ours.
