Dear Mr. Brewer:
On October 25, 2004, The Community Development Director conditionally approved your application for
a Tree Removal Permit (PLN2004-147) to remove one (1) Poplar tree with a diameter of26 inches, in the
rear yard of property located at 103 EI Patio Court in a P-D (Planned Development) Zoning District,
subject to the following condition of approval for tree replacement:
1. The applicant is required to contribute to an in-lieu of planting street tree fund in the amount of
$ 350.00 due to limited space on site to accommodate a new tree. Payment shall be made within
30 days of removal on or before December 5,2004.
The Tree Removal Permit has been approved based upon the City's determination, with a supporting
recommendation by a Certified Arborist, that the Poplar tree is diseased, thus creating potential a
hazard of falling and creating damage to life and/or property.
It is recommended that the tree be removed by persons who are experienced and bonded for the removal
of trees and that the stumps be ground out and the roots removed so there will not be re-growth of the
trees.

Arborist Report
October 6, 2004
Job Site:
103 EI Patio Ct.
Campbell, CA 95008
Type of Tree: White Poplar (Populus alba L)
DBH: 26"
Height: Approx. 50'
History: Regular pruning has been done to the tree mentioned above. The pruning
consist of cleaning the canopy and reducing end weight. This work was done by an ISA
certified arborist and the tree's health has not improved as a result of pruning. There
have been multiple limb failure over the past eight years.
Condition: From my evaluation of the White Poplar Tree it shows to have extensive rot
and decay. There are large open cavities through out the tree. The tree is unstable,
weak and extremely hazardous. I recommend the entire tree be removed before any
further damage to property or personal injury occurs.
