NOTICE OF INTENT
INTENT TO ADOPT A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION
CITY OF CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA
Notice is hereby given of the intent of the City of Campbell City Council to adopt a Mitigated
Negative Declaration for the Rolling Hills Single-family Residential Project at 1255-1461 West
Hacienda A venue.
The proposed project consists of a 30-unit single-family residential development on the site of a
former multi-tenant shopping center. The project consists of a General Plan Amendment to change
the General Plan land use designation from Neighborhood Commercial to Low Density
Residential, less than 4.5 units per gross acre; a Zoning Classification change from PoD (Planned
Development) to R-I-9 (Single-family Residential, 9,000 square foot minimum lot size); a
Tentative Subdivision Map for the creation of 30 residential lots and four private driveway (Turner
Way) lots; Site and Architectural Review Permits for the development of 30 single-family
residences; and a Tree Removal Permit for the removal of five trees.
Based on the Initial Study, it has been concluded that the project described above will not have a
significant effect on the environment and a draft Mitigated Negative Declaration has been
prepared.
The public review period for the draft Mitigated Negative Declaration begins on September 25,
2002 and ends on October 14, 2002. Any comments must be submitted to the Community
Development Department by 5:00 p.m. on October 14, 2002. Copies of the Initial Study and draft
Mitigated Negative Declaration are available for review from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the
Community Development Department, City Hall, 70 North First Street, Campbell, California.
Notice is also hereby given that this project has been scheduled for a Planning Commission public
hearing at 7:30 p.m., or shortly thereafter, on October 22, 2002, in the City Hall Council
Chambers, 70 North First Street, Campbell, California.
Interested persons may attend this public hearing and comment upon the project or provide written
comments submitted before the public hearing date. Please be advised that if you challenge the
nature of this project in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else
raised at the public hearing described in this notice or written correspondence delivered to the City
of Campbell Community Development at, or prior to the public hearing. Questions may be
addressed to Darcy Smith, Planner II, at (408) 866-2140.
