Dear Mr. Stevensen:
The Community Development Director has conditionally ap roved your application for a Tree
Removal Permit to remove one (3) Mexican Fan Palm tr e 18-inches in diameter and one
California Fan Palm tree 19-inches in Diameter, located withi the front yard on property located
at 35 S. First Street in the C-3-S (Central Business Distri t) Zoning District, subject to the
following condition of approval for tree replacement:
1. The applicant is required to plant two (2) 24-inch bo Phoenix Roebellini Palm trees in
the location specified by the approved replanting plan n or before March 10,2005.
The Tree Removal Permit has been approved based upon th City's determination that the trees
are located adjacent to the front entrance and need to be re oved in order to install a handicap
ramp in compliance with ADA requirements. It is recomm nded that the trees be removed by
persons who are experienced and bonded for the removal of rees and that the stumps be ground
out and the roots removed so there will not be fe-growth of th trees.
This approval is final in 10 calendar days, unless an appeal' s received in writing at the City of
Campbell City Clerk's Office, 70 N. First Street, Campbell, on or before Thursdav. Februarv
10. 2005 at 5:00 p.m. The trees may not be removed until after the 10-day appeal period has
passed and no appeals have been received. Should you ave any questions, please do not

Notice is hereby given that the Community Develo ment Director of the City of
Campbell has received an application for a Tree Remo al Permit (PLN2004-00179) to
remove one (1) Mexican Fan Palm tree 18 inches in di eter and one (1) California Fan
Palm 19 inches in diameter, located in the front yard on roperty at 35 S. First Street in a

The Community Development will be rendering a decis on after 10 calendar days from

I do not know if it is a male of female.
Palms #1 and #4 are windmill palms (Trachycarpus fortunei). his is a very nice, hardy palm species
that does well in this area. These two palms will continue to omplement the building after palms #2
and #3 are removed. I recommend fertilizing palm #4 during the spring and summer of 2005 to try
and increase its size relative to palm #1.
