RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL APPROVING A BUDGET
ADJUSTMENT TO FUND EMERGENCY REPAIRS AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER POOL
WHEREAS, on November 12, 2024, City staff discovered significant leaks at the Community Center
Pool; and
WHEREAS, on January 13, 2025, the City Council approved a budget adjustment to address initial
repairs; and
WHEREAS, upon reopening, additional leaks were identified in the pool system, necessitating a
second round of leak detection and repair; and
WHEREAS, in March 2025 increased water usage indicated additional pool leaks and two additional
leaks were identified in the gutter lines that return -to the pool system; and
WHEREAS, on May 6, 2025, the City Council approved a budget adjustment to address the repairs;
and
WHEREAS, on September 17, 2025, J&B Leak Detection inspected the pool and detected another
large leak in the gutter pipe underneath the concrete near the pool wall where the dive platforms are
located; and
WHEREAS, the necessary emergency repairs were completed during the week of September 29,
2025, with minimal disruption to regularly scheduled classes; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the repairs amounted to $12,200.58; and
WHEREAS, the City established the Community Center Reserve Fund in Fiscal Year 2019 for the
maintenance, preservation, and enhancement of Community Center facilities; and
WHEREAS, the fund held an unaudited balance of $159,209 at the end of Fiscal Year 2025, with two
prior budget adjustments totaling $32,783.41 made earlier in the year;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Campbell authorizes the budget
adjustment of $12,200.58 from the Community Center Reserve Fund to the Building Maintenance
Operating Budget (780) to cover the emergency repairs to the Community Center pool.
