FOR LANDSCAPE MAINTENENACE SERVICE
FORMEDIAN ISLANDS AND RIGHT-OF-WAYS
NOTICE TOCONTRACTORS,
TheCity of Campbell issoliciting bids from licensed
and bonded contractors for the provision of regularand
scheduled professional landscape maintenance services.
Services are for the City's majorstreet thoroughfare median
islands and other right-of-way areas throughout the city:
estimated at 4.5acre-s of moderate to highly maintained
landscape within the city's 6.5 square miles.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIDS
Bid Packets containing specifications and instructions can
be obtained online atwww.cityofcampbell.com or from the
City's-Service Center- Administration Building, located
at290Dillon Ave..Campbell CA, All bids must include all
required forms and information as outlined in the project

L Date and Place of Opening Bids, Notice is herebygiventhatsealed bids will be received at the Office of the City Cierl
of the City of Campbell (City), 70 N. First Street, Campbell,
CA 95008-1423 until Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 2:00
p.m.,for the foregoing project. The bids so submitted will .
be publicly opened and read aloud at that time. Sealed
bids shall be enclosed in an envelope clearly marked: "BIDS
- FOR LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES" . (BIDS -
RECEIVED AFTER THE DATE AND TIME STATED ABOVE
WILL BE REJECTED AS NONRESPONSIVE 1TISHIGHLY
RECOMMENDED THATALL BiDS BE HANDDELIVERED).
2. Location ci Work The work to be performed is located in
various median islands and right-of-ways throughout the City
of Campbell.
3 Description of Work. The work to be performed, in
general, consists of fumishingall labor, tools, equipment,
transportation, materials,and traffic control required to
complete landscape maintenance services for city medians
and right-of-ways that are in or near heavy vehicle traffic
areas. For additional information, please contact the City

Bids are required for the entire work described in the project
specifications and contract documents and must be
submitted on the bid forms provided by the City of Campbell
for this project.
4. Contract Documents, Interested parties may view
Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the Notice

documents, including, but not limited to, the Noticelnvibng
Bids, instructions to bidders, specifications, special provisions,
bid forms and contract maybe seen and picked up at the office
of tfre Public Works Superintendent of the City of Campbell
located at290 Dillon Avenue, Campbell, California. Bidsmust
conform and be responsive to all contract documents.
5. Award of Contract. All termsandcondiiionscontained
in the contract documents shall become a part of the
Contract for this project, The Contractoragreestohonor the
submitted Bid Proposal fora period of at least90-calendar
days after the opening of the Bid Proposal Itis anticipated
that the Contract for this project will be awarded to the
lowest responsible responsive bidder. A bid maybe rejected
if the City determines that any of the bid item prices are
materially unbalanced to the potential detriment of the City.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the City reserves and
maintains the rightto rejectanyand all bids and to wanreany
bid informality or irregularity at its discretion.
6: Prevailing Rate of Wage. The workcorttefnpbtedbythe
contract documents isa publicwork subject toprevailingwages
under California Labor Code Secbon1770et_seq. Pursuant
to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the genera I prevailing wage
rates in the county, or counties, in which the work is to tc-
done have been determined by the Directorof the California
Department of Industrial Relations. In accordance with
Sections 1770 through 1780 inclusive of the California Labor
Code, the City has obtained from the Deparment of industrial
Relations the general prevailing rates of wages in the locality in
which the work is to be performed. The Contractor to whom
the Contract for this project is awarded and any subcontractors
mustpay not less than the specified prevailing rates of wages to
all workers employed in the execution of the Contract Pursuant
to Section 1773.2 of the Labor Code,

7. Licenses. All bidders, Conti actors and subcontractors
strall be licensed in accordance with the laws of the State
of California. All contractors and subcontractors shall
have and maintain a currentand valid contractor license
of the required classification from the State of California
throughout the course of this project.
Failure to possess the specified license at the time the bid is
submitted shall render the bid non -responsive and shall act
as a bar to award of the Contract to any bidder not possessing
said license at bid submission and result in afor#sitars of the
bid security. Bidderlcontractof is required to provide with
its
bidsatisfactory proof of licensure to the City.
8 Business License. All contractors and subcontractors
working in the City of Campbell must have a valid City of
Campbell Business License at thetime the Contract is
awarded. Business Licenses may be purchased at tile Finance
Department at70 N. First Street, Campbell, Califomia,
9. Mandatory Pre -Bid Meeting. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at
9:00 AM. Located at the Campbell Service Center; 290 Dillon
Ave, Campbell, California 95008.
10, Pre -Bid Site Review. None.
11. Apprentices. Attention is directed to Sections 1777.5,
1777.6 and 1777.7 of the California Labor Code and Title
8, California Administrative Code, Section 200 et seq. to
ensure compliance and complete understanding of the law
regarding apprentices. Contractors and subcontractors
shall comply with all such requirements concerning the
employ mentand wages ofapprentices- Bidder/contractor
is responsible for the compliance of its subcontractorswith
Cal ,Kornia Labor Code Sections 1777.5,1777.6arid 1777.7,
12, State of CaliforniaDepartrnentofIndustrialRelations
(DIR)Registration. Contractors and subcontractors must
be registered with the DIR pursuantto California Labor
Code Section 1725.5, California Labor Code Section 1725.5
mandates tlat all contractors and subcontractors who bid
or work on public works project must be property registered
with the DIR. Effecfive March 1, 2015, the City cannot accept
a bid from a contractor that is not properly registered with
theDIR. For public works projects, like this project, the City
is required to use only those contractors and subcontractors
that have been property registered with the DiR. The
Contractor and subcontractors (as listed on the Statement of
Subcontractors Form) shall provide proof of DIR registration
at the time of Bid. This project is subjectto compliance
monitoring and enforcement by the DIR pursuant to
California Labor Code Section 1771.4.
NOTICE:
No contractor or subcontractor may be listen on a bid proposal
for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015)
uniessfegistered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code section
1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requireme'rtfor bid
purposes only under Labcr Code section 1771.1(3)1.
No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract
for public work on a public works project (awarded on or
after April1, 2015) unless registeredwith the DIR pursuant to
Labor Code section 1725.5.
