A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL ACCEPTING A
MONETARY DONATION, IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,000, MADE BY DALE SCRIBNER FOR
THE INSTALLATION OF A BENCH AT THE CAMPBELL COMMUNITY CENTER
RUNNING TRACK, AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PERFORM THE
ASSOCIATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, over the years, the City of Campbell has accepted monetary donations for the purchase
and installation of benches, which are reviewed and approved in accordance with the City's
Commemorative Activities and Landscape Memorial Fund policies; and
WHEREAS, in January 2026, Mr. Dale Scribner contacted the City expressing an interest in making
a monetary donation for the installation of a bench at the Campbell Community Center Running Track,
and
WHEREAS, during the May 6, 2026, Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, the commission
expressed their gratitude for Mr. Scribner's generous contribution and unanimously supported the
installation of the bench at the proposed location site; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution accepting a $3,000 monetary
donation from Mr. Scribner for the purchase of a bench, and its installation at the Campbell
Community Center Running Track; and
WHEREAS, the donation will be deposited into the City's General Fund for the purchase of the bench,
with Parks Maintenance staff to provide the labor and incidental materials for its installation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Campbell does hereby
adopt a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $3,000 made by Mr. Dale Scribner for the
purchase of a bench, and its installation at the Campbell Community Center Running Track; and be
it further resolved that the City Council authorizes the Finance Director to perform the associated
budget adjustment.
