Underground Utility - 1999To: Michele Quinney From: Gloria Sciara Date: February 5, 1999 Re: Underground Utility Request Please fred attached a request for an underground utility waiver for 1434 Capri Drive. The property owners are constructing an addition to their home and require new service. Due to the length of time required before utilities could be underground and the delay to construction, the owners are requesting the waiver. We feel a more appropriate solution would be for the owners to obtain a temporary service to the addition, and then underground the service when P G & E scheduling is available. Please review and comment on the attached plans by February 17, 1999. February 5, 1999 City of Campbell 70 North First Street Campbell, CA 95008 RE: Underground Utility Waiver In reference to the following property: Site Address: 1434 Capri Drive APN: 406-22-037 Building Permit Number: 9800000406 To Whom It May Concern: We are currently in progress of building an addition to our home. During an electrical inspection, it was recommended to re-locate and upgrade our main electrical panel. To do this, we would have to move the existing overhead electrical wire to another part of the house. In speaking with PG&E, we have discovered that if we add a new electrical connection, the city of Campbell requires us to change the electrical from overhead to underground. PG&E then informed us that they currently have a 25 week wait to have PG&E pull in a new connection line. However, it is only 3 - 4 days to have the existing connection relocated (cut and swing). Since a 25 week wait would severely place our project behind schedule, we would prefer to have our connection moved and not placed underground. The relocation site would be in a more desirable location on our property. It currently crosses our entire lot from fight to let~. The relocation site would be almost in front of the utility pole. Therefore, we believe that moving the electrical wire will be a large improvement to our house and neighborhood. Please consider this request to waive the underground utility requirement. We would be happy to cooperation with the city if any future underground utility project is done. Please see the attached site plan, photos and current permit for our property for your reference.
