Underground Utility Waiver
PLN2000-139
56 Cherry Lane
Dear Mr. Haynes:
Please be advised that the Community Development Director with the concurrence of the
Land Development Manager, on behalf of the City Engineer, has reviewed your request to
permit overhead services in conjunction with the proposed addition to your existing residence
on the above-referenced property in lieu of the requirement to underground utilities. This
request has been granted as a waiver of the requirement to underground utilities due to the
limited likelihood that other utility lines will be placed underground in your neighborhood and
the additional cost of having to underground the utility lines.
If you should have any questions regarding this determination, please do not hesitate to contact
the undersigned at 866-2193.
Sincerely,
Darcy Smith

To whom it may concern,
We are requesting a waiver of underground utilities, and to remain with our
overhead services for the following reasons.
1. We have a reasonably new service, installed in around November of 1997 or
1998, when we experienced a wind storm that blew our service loose, it was
replaced with new line good for at least a 200 Amp service.
2. There have been four homes remodeled to almost rebuilt in the past few
months to a year, none on Cherry Ln. have gone underground utilities.

261 Cherry Ln.
230 Cherry Ln.
3. The street has been resurfaced in the past few months to a year, it would be a
shame to cut, excavate and patch it.
Thank You
