Re:
Fence Exception (PLN2001-53) Application
293 Esther Avenue
Dear Mr. Lozano,
The Community Development Department has reviewed your application for a fence exception
for the fencing along the south property line at 293 Esther Avenue. It has been determined,
pursuant to Campbell Municipal Code section 20.59.090, that the requested fence exception:
1. Will not impair vehicular or pedestrian safety;
2. Will result in a more desirable site layout;
3. Will not be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort or general welfare of
the City; and
4. Will not be detrimental or injurious to property and improvements in the neighborhood or
to the general welfare of the City.
Therefore, your request for a fence exception has been approved. The fence exception is
granted for the above referenced address, subject to the following conditions:
1. The fence will not exceed eight (8) feet in height and will be constructed with redwood or
cedar. The approved design consists ora six (6) foot "good neighbor" type fence with two
feet of lattice on top.
2. A minimum twenty (20) foot setback will be maintained from the street front property
line to the eight (8) foot portion.
3. Obtain a Building Permit for construction of the fence since it exceeds six feet in height.
A copy of the approved plans is enclosed. If you should have any questions regarding this matter,
please do not hesitate to contact me at (408) 866-2124.
Sincerely,
Geoff I. Bradley

Wooden Fence Extension
The owner intends to add a 24" high lattice extension to an existing wooden fence located at the
property line. Since the wind passage through the lattice work will be relatively unobstructed, the
lateral loads on the fence will be only slightly increased and the fence should be adequate as
constructed.
Please call me with any 'questiOns ~d ifI can be of further assistance..

To Whom It May Concern:
The following letter is to request the fence exception between properties 285 and 293 in
Esther Ave.
I am the current property owner and I would like to have a 2' lattice on top of the
6' fence so that we can have support for some flowers and nice bushes that will be placed
there in the future to offer more shadow and beauty. The kinds of bushes are similar to
the ones that we have on the other side of the property with our other next-door neighbor.
In addition, the view of property 285 from our view is not the greatest. The 285
house is not well kept, has a lot of old things (sometimes trash) in the back, which does
not provide the most pleasant view from our side. When a house is appraised in the
category of the house, which has been built at 293 Esther Ave, it would be a disgrace to
see all the trashy things from the 285 property. This is the reason why I would like to
request this 2' lattice to be put on top of the regular 6' fence. I have talked to the
neighbors and they do not object to this addition as you can see from their letter.
In Advance, I would like to thank you for all the help. I know that Campbell is a good
place to liv~/'~ and would be a better place once we get our house built as we would like.
