Dear Property Owner:
The Community Development Department has reviewed your Fence Exception application for a six foot
fence located closer to the street property line than normally permitted on a comer lot. The submitted
plan depicts a six foot fence 5 feet behind the sidewalk along the Hedegard Avenue frontage of your
property.
It has been determined that the requested Fence Exception:
1. Will not impair vehicular or pedestrian safety;
2. Will result in a more desirable site layout from a maintenance and use standpoint;
3. Will not be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort or general welfare of the City;
and
4. Will not be detrimental or injurious to property and improvements in the neighborhood or to the
general welfare of the City.
Therefore, your request for a Fence Exception has been approved. This approval is final in ten days
unless a written appeal letter and the required fee of $100.00 is received at the City Clerk's Office, 70 N.
First Street, Campbell on or before Friday, August 23, 2002.

Dear Planning Director of Campbell City,
My name is Shu Liu, the owner of the property located at 53 Shereen Place, Campbell,
CA 95008. A few months ago, our fence was blown down by typhoon. Since the fence is
pretty old with many termites, there is no value to repair it. So we planned to
implement a new fence.
The problem fence is for the side part of the back yard. There is 15' setback space from
the sidewalk outside. Please see the detail in the attached plot plan. We have several
big trees outside which cause problem year to year by the falling leaves. It is very
difficult to reach for cleaning the leaves due to the bushes under them. This makes the
outside environment looks ugly.
Since we need to build a new fence, we would like to utilize this chance to push the
existing fence 10' out. This will still leave the big trees outside in the 5' area, but will
keep the problem area of the falling leaves inside. This not only makes us easy to clean
the falling leaves, but also makes the outside looks very well organized, and the inside
has bigger usable space.
This plan matches the environment of the neighbors, and our only adjacent property
owner agrees this plan also.
