Utility Waiver - 2003 CITY OF CAMPBELL Community Development Department CAMPBELL July 3, 2003 Mr. Tewolde Berhane Addis Construction Co. P.O.Box 4972 Sonora, California 95370 Re: Underground Utility Waiver 1512 Parson Avenue BLD # 2002-305 Dear Mr. Berhane: Please be advised that the Community Development Director has reviewed and approved your request to permit overhead services in conjunction with the utility relocation on the existing residence on the above, referenced property in lieu of the requirement to underground the utihties. Pursuant to Campbell Municipal Code section 20.36.150, this request has been granted as a waiver of the requirement to underground utilities due to the limited likelihood that other utility lines will be placed underground in your neighborhood and the excessive cost of having to underground the utility lines. If you should have any questions regarding this determination, please do not hesitate to contact me at 866-2144. Tim J. Addis Construction Co. requests for waiver of installing underground power to the residence referred above for the following reasons. The residence is now being served with overhead PG&E service. Remodeling of the residence is very minimum. Therefore, we are not upgrading the PG&E line, nor are we setting new meter. Most importantly, the cost of going underground xvould be so great because we would have to dig across Parsons Ave. or Redding, and set new meter. This would virtually halt the remodeling of the residence for good. Your cooperation in approving our request of waiver to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
