Utility Waiver - 2005Community Development Department August 18,2005 Mr. Rami Karimi 1129 Audrey Avenue Campbell, CA 95008 Re: Underground Utility Waiver FileNo: PLN2005-117 1141 Peggy Avenue Dear Mr. Karimi: Please be advised that the Community Development Director, with the concurrence of the City Engineer, has reviewed your request to permit overhead utility services in conjunction with the addition to your residence on the above-referenced property in lieu of the requirement to underground the utilities. Pursuant to Campbell Municipal Code Section 21.18.140, the request to underground utilities has been granted due to the limited likelihood that other utility lines in the surrounding neighborhood will be placed underground and the high cost of undergrounding the utilities as compared to overhead installation. If you should have any questions regarding this determination, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned at (408) 866-2140 Sincerely, 111/LU- ~ Mickela Gonzales Planning Department Intern cc: Ed Arango, Public Works Department Frank Mills, Building Division 70 North First Street Campbell, California 95008-1436 . After submiUing my application to PG&E to request underground power and upon a field review by PG&E I was notified that due to the fact that the power pole that would be the source that the power company would be utilizing to provide my home with power is located on the neighbors property in the rear and PG&E does not have the land rights to perform such service. I was also informed to obtain such rights the would have to go through their legal department and the process would be long and costly (up to six months) also the owner of the neighboring property could deny such permission. After careful review of all the facts and also keeping in mind that the overhead line will be installed in the far right rear of the property in a low visibility location and also the fact that over ninety five percent of immediate neighborhood in my track still has overhead services I feel that the waiver will not have any negative impact. In closing I would to thank you in advance for your prompt aUention to this maUer and also to mention that it has been a pleaser to work with the City Of Campbell on this project both at the office and the field staff. Thank You Rami Karimi ,Homeowner
