You state that you plan on replacing the cedar tree with a 10" box Avocado tree and two 20" box cherry and peach trees. Per the Tree Protection Ordinance Section 21.56.100 Replacement Trees (enclosed), you will be required to replace the tree with a 36.-inch box tree. The Community Development Director cannot authorize any exceptions to this requirement. In the last four years the following were added to this property: 3 poplars, all well over 36" box size 1 apple, 20" box size 1 plum, 15" size I would add one avocado 10" box size and two fruit trees, one cherry and one peach, both 20" box size. I hope these are enough trees. If not, I also have two California Black Walnuts, both 15" box size. Second Street in a P-D (Planned Development - Residential) Zoning District. The replanting plan that you submitted shows the planting of three fruit trees. The size is not specified. Per the Tree Protection Ordinance, you will be required to replace the tree with a 36-inch box tree. There are no exceptions to this requirement. The species must also continue the diversity of trees found in the community. We strongly recommend you choose from the list of water efficient species below. Second Street PLN 2001-107 Dear Madame: The Campbell Planning Division has reviewed your application for a permit to remove a cedar tree at 100 S. Second Street in a P-D (Planned Development - Residential) Zoning District. The Community Development Director cannot approve your tree removal permit without receiving a detailed replantin~ ~lan that includes a site plan of the subject property with the location and species of the proposed replacement tree. Per the Tree Protection Ordinance, you will be required to replace the tree with a 36-inch box tree. The variety of replacement tree(s) should continue the diversity of trees found in the community. Replacement trees shall be obtained and planted at the expense of the applicant. City staff shall be permitted to enter the property to verify the install~it}'on of the replacement trees. Any person who is required to plant replacement trees as a condition of a tree removal permit shall maintain such trees in a healthy condition to ensure their long term survival. In addition, the site or tree will be posted with a notice of the proposed tree removal for ten calendar days (the appeal period). If anyone disagrees with the decision of the approval authority, they have ten (10) days in which to file an appeal in accordance with Section 21.80 (Appeals) of the Zoning Ordinance. NO WORK IS PERMITTED UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN APPROVED TREE PERMIT ALLOWING TREE REMOVAL. THE PERMIT MUST BE ON THE JOB SITE.
