Zoning Letter - 20030 ~, C H A ,~.9 ° CITY OF CAMPBELL Community Development Department CAMPBELL January 23, 2003 Jakub Lukaszcsyk 1178 Smith Avenue Campbell, CA 95008 Re: Additional Living Units - Minimum Lot Size Dear Mr. Lukaszcsyk, Thank you for submitting your request to amend the minimum lot size requirement for additional living units. Your request would require a text amendment to Section 21.61.030(D)(1) of the Campbell Municipal Code (CMC) which currently permits the development of additional living units on R-1 lots having a minimum lot area of twelve thousand square feet. Program H-5.2a of the Housing Element in the City of Campbell General Plan, adopted November 6, 2001, calls for the reduction of the minimum lot size requirement for additional living units from twelve thousand to ten thousand square feet. The Community Development Department is currently in the process of updating the Zoning Code to be consistent with the new policies and programs in the General Plan. The new Zoning Code will not be adopted for approximately one year, at which time this new minimum lot size will be revised. Staff has not been authorized to pursue a text amendment separate from the Zoning Code update that is currently under way. The Community Development Department will keep your name and address on file and will notify you when the Zoning Code update approaches the public hearings.
