Subject: 1580 Summerfidd Drive Trellis Plan Review
Please provide the following additional information so that we can expedite your permit
application:
1) Embed posts three (3) feet into the ground, with two (2) foot diameter holes and
minimum of one (1) foot base beneath, with drainage.
2) Provide a minimum of 2" x 8" DF #1 ledger, connected to the house rim joist or studs
at 16" o.c. with minimum 3/8" x 5" lag bolts.
3) Use 4" x 6" DF #1 ( instead of 4" x 4") for 20'+ span.
4) Provide a detail of the connection of the 2"x 12" at posts. ( Use a 35s at inside
intersection of 2" x 12" beams.)
5) The current plan shows the trellis located six (6) feet from the property line. As a result,
the Planning Department requires that you:
a) lower the height of the trellis or
b) increase the set back of the trellis from the property line.
Submit three sets of plans with the above revisions, drawn to scale and showing setbacks.
The red-lined plans are available to be picked up at the Campbell Building Division.

Dear Mr. Hahn:
The Community Development DeparUnent has reviewed your plan submittal for a trellis structure in the rear yard of the
referenced property. This plan submittal is incomplete. The following information needs to be incorporated into your plan
submittal:
1) A scaled site plan depicting the location of the proposed trellis structure in relationship to existing structures and the
property lines.
2) Provision of a scale on the detail plans of the structure.
3) Please check with the Building Division regarding the structural aspect of the trellis design and the lumber sizes proposed.
A copy of the swimming pool plan for this property has been enclosed for your information
