Fence - 2001 CITY oF CAMPBELL Community Development Department - Current Planning Aprill0,2001 Rod Hansell 1405 Harriet Ct. Campbell, CA 95008 Re: Fence Exception (PLN2001-42) 1540 Van Dusen Lane Dear Mr. Hansell, The Community Development Department has reviewed your application for a fence exception for the fencing along the Van Dusen frontage of your property at 1540 Van Dusen Lane. The current design is not supported in that it will create a 'wall-off appearance as viewed from the street frontage. It is recommended that you consider a revised design that incorporates the following features: 1. Provide a step in the wall plane so that it is not an extension of the wall plane of the house; 2. Introduce material changes, reveal features, larger wall caps and or openings to reduce the massing of the stucco wall; 3. Investigate the provision of a trellis element as a portion of the wall; and 4. Clarify the location and extend of the lower 2.5 to 3 foot walls. The Planning Division does not oppose the installation of a 7.5 wall, however, concerns are raised regarding the current design and location. If you should have any other questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at (408) 866-2144. Rod Hansell has explained, in detail, the location of the 7'6" wall on the east side elevation, and 6'6" wall on the street side. All walls will be stucco and painted to match the home. This letter is for the purpose of stating that I/we do not object to the purposed fences. X X I Rod Hansell am requesting a 7'6" blocked wall on the east elevation for privacy and noise reduction in addition to elevation difference of 18" from the neighbors property. Finish grade at 1540 Van Dusan Lane will still be near 6'6" at the lowest elevation. The 6'6" wall at south elevation will be for privacy/noise reduction and made to match east wall. Thank you for your consideration in this fence exception.
