Utility Waiver - 2002 CITY OF CAMPBELL Community Development Department CAMPBELL December 2, 2002 Mr. Joe Wakefield 105 Victor Avenue Campbell, CA 95008 Underground Utility Waiver File No.: PLN2002-00149 105 Victor Avenue Dear Mr. Wakefield: Please be advised that the Community Development Director, with the concurrence of the City Engineer, has reviewed your request to permit overhead services in conjunction with the remodel of your residence on the above-referenced property in lieu of the requirement to underground the utilities. This request has been granted as a waiver of the requirement to underground utilities due to the limited likelihood that other utility lines will be placed underground in your neighborhood and the additional cost of having to underground the utility lines. If you should have any questions regarding this determination, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned at (408) 866-2143 or via email at stephaniew@cityofcampbell.com. Sincerely, Stephanie Willsey Planner I cc: Lynn Penoyer, Land Development Manager Frank Mills, Senior Building Inspector Geoff Bradley, Senior Planner 70 North First Street - Campbell, California 95008-1436 · TEL 408.866.2 140 · r^X 408.871.5 140 · TDD 408.866.2790 November 20, 2002 To Whom It May Concem: I am requested for an electrical waiver underground utility. My house is offset, opposed and across the traffic road to the PG&E utility pole. It is did not make any sense and cost effective for me if my electrical connect is going underground. ao It is not cost effective the cost for doing it. Based on PG&E and other electrical contractor, the cost for doing this underground task is almost 17,000.00 dollars, if I trench the electrical line. If PG&E is doing all the work then the cost will be higher than 17,000.00 dollars. PG&E has advised me to keep the existing overhang electrical utility than to go underground. b. This task will affect the every day traffic on this street for at least one week or more. Co The neighbors will not happy with the change. Why is only one house to have the electrical utility to go underground? It is not compatible with existing use in this area. Thank you very much for your consideration. Best Regards, Joe Wakefield
